‘Healing the Hurt, Restoring the Hope’.
One of the key note speakers, Erica Strudley-Brown, reflects on the Department of Children and Families Conference which took place on 11/2/23 at the University of Worcester.

The ‘Healing the Hurt, Restoring the Hope’ conference was expertly organised and delivered by The Department for Children and Families. The entire day was underpinned by the philosophy and purpose of the Department, with children and families at the heart of the presentations and the discussions.
The choice of speakers with individual expertise in their subject areas gave the presentations academic rigour with content delivered in various styles, engaging the audience.
Presentations were challenging and thought-provoking, leaving attendees in no doubt about the global impact of humankind neglecting the environment. Even so, the early years workforce was asked to consider strategies to help children and families navigate uncertainty and insecurity. Adversity was tempered by hopefulness and determination to address the holistic needs of young children and those who care for them in a fast-changing world.
