Ethics in Education

NEW PUBLICATION!

Edited by the University of Worcester’s Dr Geoffrey Elliott and @UWDCFs Dr Carla Solvason: Ethics in Education.

This book explores the positioning of ethics within an education system that has become increasingly guided by technocratic principles and measurable outcomes. A range of our colleagues have reflected on this topic with us and repositioned the values of care, and consideration for the whole person, at the heart of education systems from the Early Years to Further and Higher Education. These thoughtful and reflective discussions demonstrate that whilst concepts of moral responsibility for the learner may have become side-lined in our government’s education targets, they are still perceived by educators as being core to their practice.
Thank you to all of our contributors for helping create a powerful argument for raising the status of ethical and moral obligation within our education discourses.
Dr Carla Solvason and Prof Geoffrey Elliott
