Halimah Hussain shares her experiences of studying with the University of Worcester on the FdA Early Years<\/a> and the BA(Hons) Integrated Working with Children and Families Top Up degree<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

“Upon finishing 6th form, I initially didn\u2019t plan to attend university, believing it wasn\u2019t for me. However, I eventually enrolled in a Foundation Degree course at the University of Worcester, motivated to prove to myself that I could succeed rather than give up. I recognised that this degree would provide a solid foundation for my career and a valuable opportunity to challenge myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transitioning from a background in Health and Social Care to an Early Years foundation degree<\/a> was a significant shift. I had much to learn about the policies and documents relevant to early years settings. My understanding evolved as I grasped the practitioner\u2019s responsibilities for the children in their care, which involved many factors I hadn\u2019t previously considered. This deeper insight has positioned me well to navigate guidelines and policies, enhancing my career pathway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following my Foundation Degree, I completed a BA (Hons) in Integrated Working with Children and Families<\/a>. This program offered opportunities to explore various career paths and gain diverse professional experiences across different sectors. My time at university was truly rewarding, thanks in large part to the support of incredible lecturers like Angela Hodgkins and Tom Weaver, who helped me achieve grades I never thought possible. I also forged lasting friendships along the way. These connections helped and supported me throughout my course and created a positive learning environment for us all.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now that I have completed my degree, I\u2019ve decided to conclude my university journey and focus on pursuing career opportunities.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
