Angela presented her PhD research on empathy within early childhood practice to an international audience. Presentations were organised into symposia; the other presenters in this symposium were Suvi Puolakka from the University of Helsinki, Finland, and Susanna Isotolo from the University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4 in Finland. The three presenters are hoping to collaborate on an academic journal article.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/childrenandfamilies.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/369805006_10160137219674032_4293163156381362520_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-431\" style=\"width:358px;height:428px\" width=\"358\" height=\"428\" srcset=\"https:\/\/childrenandfamilies.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/369805006_10160137219674032_4293163156381362520_n.jpg 801w, https:\/\/childrenandfamilies.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/369805006_10160137219674032_4293163156381362520_n-250x300.jpg 250w, https:\/\/childrenandfamilies.on.worc.ac.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/369805006_10160137219674032_4293163156381362520_n-768x920.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 358px) 100vw, 358px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>As well as presenting, Angela listened to a range of presentations on all sorts of subjects, including \u2018what children really think about sitting straight, golden time and reward charts\u2019, \u2018young children\u2019s voices \u2013 do we really listen to them?\u2019, \u2018Early childhood workforce stress\u2019, \u2018practitioner coping strategies during the coronavirus crisis\u2019, professionals\u2019 emotional availability\u2019, \u2018teachers\u2019 eye gaze in toddler groups\u2019, and supporting childminders in Quebec!\u201d There were also keynote speeches by well-known writers and pioneers Catherne L\u2019Ecuyer, J\u00f3hanna Einarsd\u00f3ttir, Luis Ribiero and Freire Laevers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference provided an opportunity for networking with early childhood practitioners from across the world, as well as listening to examples of practice from different countries.
