Black Pear Trust Health & Wellbeing project<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

 Members of DCF are currently involved in a project with the Black Pear MAT, along with the school effectiveness lead and colleagues from the School of Allied Health and Community. The project is focussed on school employees and originated from a request from the CEO of Black Pear, who is passionate about the mental health and wellbeing of her staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We first developed an online survey that went out to school staff across the Midlands in order to assess the \u2018bigger picture\u2019. This resulted in 274 responses from a wide range of settings, and produced findings indicating, as might be predicted, significant stress and fatigue among teachers, TAs, admin staff and others working in school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 As a result of the findings, two members of UW staff are currently delivering a training package to a pilot group of Black Pear staff, between November 2022 and February 2023. It is hoped that, as well as making a difference to the wellbeing culture of the MAT, this training package might be developed into a CPD opportunity in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
